At the age of 11 I found out that my mom had won the "lottery" which was a way for people to apply for a chance to move to United States and live there. This was the most exciting moment of my life because I always dreamed of living in a city with tall buildings, different cultures, the different kinds of foods, music, oh and Hollywood? Who wouldn't want to experience that? It was December 2004 and I arrived in Saint Louis, my uncle was waiting for me here. I was so overwhelmed with everything because everything was new, I started noticing the big highways that we didn't have back home, no mountains around; everything was so flat. I always wondered why that was but I had forgotten the fact that United States is huge and I just happened to be into the plain field part of it: The Great Midwest. Despite all the new things I was terrified because reality kicked in and I didn't speak anything but a few words of communication learned in school, always thinking of how I was going to make friends and figure out how to get around but all of that changed eventually, I am 24 now and I feel at home. What's your Experience?
